Willie Classen Documentary Project by H2O Cineworks
We are H2O Cineworks and we are working on a FEATURE DOCUMENTARY titled "MACHO: The Willie Classen Story"
It's about the untold story of Willie Classen, a New York fighter who died in the ring at Madison Square Garden, and whose death has since lead to many life saving changes in the boxing regulations of today.
Willie Classen was not a very famous fighter, and so his matches were never broadcast nationally. We are searching for any footage, photo, or archival leads on Willie Classen and the New York 1970s Boxing Scene including training and matches, especially anything from the Bronx, Madison Square Garden, or Felt Forum.
A lot of the fights we're searching for took place in various places such as New York and New Jersey between 1972 - 1979.
