Luis Firpo knocks Jack Dempsey through the ropes Framed Print by George Bellows
Item Description
Great framed lithograph print of Luis Angel Firpo knocking Jack Dempsey through the ropes in their celebrated battle of 1923. Firpo thought he had scored a huge upset but Dempsey crawled back in though the ropes and proceeded to beat Firpo senseless over the next round. Great art by George Bellows.
The original collector I purchased this from paid over $250.00 just to have this professionally matted and framed behind glass (or a very clear plexiglass type material).
I believe this to be an earlier c. 1950's-60s Museum Print.
A great Display piece.
Size - Print measures about 22" x 18" inches. Frame measures about 29" x 25" inches.
Condition - Appears very clean. A faint rub on the left hand portion of the print visible upon very close inspection.
(Important Notes - Only (1) of each item is available, unless otherwise mentioned in the description of each item listed.)
