Conrad was known as a man of many interesting talents. A sports writer, a booking agent, a promoter, a manager, a press agent, a newspaperman among other professions.
Friends of Budd Schulberg, Norman Mailer and other literary titans. Involved in bouts featuring Muhammad Ali, Sonny Liston, Floyd Patterson and many others.
He's the guy who knew "everybody". The character played by Humphrey Bogart in "The Harder They Fall", was inspired by Harold Conrad.
